Tommy is one of the two youngsters of the group. His job in life is to protect the Phoenix Force Host, who just so happens to be his mom, Ashley Roberts.
Before The AvengersEdit
Well, we actually do not know much of Tommy's past. All we can tell you is that Tommy, who inconviently has no last name, is the last known Guardian, a person who's sole purpose in life is to protect the Host of the Phoenix Force, that he is 11 years old, and that he has no memory of his life before crashing through S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier.
After crashing through the Helicarrier, Director Fury and the agents aboard helped Tommy heal and then continued to ask questions. Of course, Tommy couldn't answer most of the questions, but Fury still persisted. Fury gave up after a few hours of "I don't know" and being blasted back by Tommy. A few weeks after recovering, Tommy decided to leave the 'warm hospitality' of Director Fury and the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier to seek out some people who knew about the Phoenix Force. Tommy eventually found himself at Xavier's School for the Gifted. Without thinking, he just strode in, crossing paths with Wolverine, who Tommy liked to call Grumpy. After a considerable amount of arguing, Tommy and Wolverine got into a fight, which was soon interrupted by Scott Summers and Professor X. After everything was settled and Wolverine left the scene grumbling under his breath, Tommy started to talk to Scott and X. Talking about the Phoenix Force was a bit of a touchy subject, expecially for Scott, but both were willing to talk about it. X and Tommy seemed to form a bit of a bond, and both enjoyed each other's company. Scott and X introduced Tommy to the X-Men and Tommy stayed with them for awhile. He was offered to stay there and be a possible future member, but Tommy declined, saying that he still needed to find who ever the host was.
Tommy, after a few months of traveling, found his way back to S.H.I.E.L.D. and met Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. Tommy took a liking to both Banner and Tony, but Tommy spent most of the time working with Banner. Tommy left shortly before Laiteas (who we later find out is his aunt) came and was on his own for awhile.
Then the Phoenix Force hit earth.
Avengers and BeyondEdit
A few days after Ashley became the Phoenix Force Host, Tommy showed up at S.H.I.E.L.D., tracing the Phoenix Force energy from their. Unfortunately for Tommy, no one at S.H.I.E.L.D. knew who he was, Fury had turned over the responsibility of Director to Jessica Moon (now known as Jay) and Banner was no where to be found at the time. Tommy, in pursuit of the Host, managed to annoy the living hell out of Jess and almost got into a fight with her. Jess finally agreed to help find Ashley, she needed to find her too, and the two found Ashley, Jethro and Jet in a little abandoned house. At first, no one was too impressed with Tommy, they also didn't like the idea of bringing another child into the Avengers, but after awhile, everyone warmed up to Tommy, especially Ashley and Jethro. They treated him like family, and Tommy was soon accepted as an Avenger. Tommy has truely proven to be useful, especially where the Phoenix Force and Ashley are concerned. From the point of acceptance, Tommy was treated more as an equal instead of the 'pint sized kid' he was. Even though he has been treated as an equal, Tommy has been left behind on severalmissions, he is just a kid after all, but Tommy is still a very active Avenger.
In recent events, Tommy has learned to master his true Guardian self and found out that his parents are none other than Ashley and Jethro. He has been looking for the answers to his past, and their are many suspisions and theories on the table.
